Weight loss diet: A woman shed nearly 5st on this plan – what did she eat? – Express

When it comes to shaping up, a structured diet plan can be a great way for people to stay on track. Looking to others who have been through a weight loss transformation of their own can also help slimmers find motivation. The Reddit user, “lillykate22”, revealed she achieved her impressive weight loss by combining two popular diet plans with regular exercise. She used the keto diet plan and intermittent fasting to help her slim down in just six months.

What did she eat?

The dieter, who revealed she is 25-years-old and 5ft 4in tall, said she dropped from 17st 12lb to 13st 2lb.

“lillykate22” explained she combined intermittent fasting with the keto diet to help her slim down.

Posting on Reddit, she said: “Keto, IF, and the gym have done me wonders!”

The keto diet is a high fat and low carb plan and slimmers limit their net carb intake to about 25 grams per day.

This helps the body enter the fat burn state called ketosis which is said to promote fat loss.

Those following the plan eat foods high in fat including meat, fish, nuts, eggs, dairy, non-starchy vegetables and fruits low in sugar.

“lillykate22” combined this diet with intermittent fasting, a plan which sees slimmers restrict the times they eat.

A popular form of this is the 16:8 plan, where slimmers will eat all their food for the day within an eight hour window and fast for the remaining 16 hours.

Others will use the 5:2 plan and limit themselves to 500 calories on two days of the week, eating normally on the remaining days of the week.
