Andy Ruiz Jr has dismissed Anthony Joshua’s new ‘slimmer’ physique after seeing his body transformation ahead of their upcoming rematch.

The Mexican-American himself released a slimmed down picture that caused a stir earlier this month, and has now reacted to the latest shots of Joshua.

Last week, many fans commented on AJ’s new body shape when he uploaded the below video of him celebrating his birthday.

Ruiz weighed in on the matter and said: “He looks a little slimmer, but I don’t think that’s going to do any different.

“You can do whatever you want outside of the ring, but inside of the ring when it’s fight time, like Mike Tyson said, ‘Everyone has a plan until you get hit.’”

The unified heavyweight world champion also stated that he now believes he knows his opponent’s game plan for their December 7 rematch.

Ruiz continued: “He’s going to try and win by points… especially since he’s going to be running around.

“My job is to cut the ring, and that’s exactly what we’ve been training for.

“I don’t really worry about what he’s doing, you know. We have to worry about what we’re doing. He has to train hard.

“I feel that he has more pressure than I do. I just have to do what I have to do, and just let my hands go and focus…

“He even said at one of the press conferences, he said that he was gonna be boxing around.

“He kinda told me his strategy, but whatever he does we’re gonna do the best we can to do our thing.

“I think the main thing I’ve gotta do is just let my hands go and throw my combinations.”
