Santa Clara County public health officials are reporting 1,224 people have now tested positive for the novel coronavirus as new data released by the Public Health Department on Monday confirmed 17 new cases and three additional COVID-19-related deaths.

The countywide COVID-19 death toll has reached 42. More than 50 percent of the deaths (22 of 42) have occurred in the last 10 days.

The 17 new cases announced Monday represents the lowest single-day increase in Santa Clara County since Saturday, March 28 when the Public Health Department also revealed 17 new cases. Since Friday, March 20, at least 17 new positive tests have been recorded by the county each day.

Of the five most populous Bay Area counties, Santa Clara County has the highest number of deaths per every 100,000 residents at 2.1. San Mateo County, which has a higher rate of confirmed cases per 100,000 residents, has 1.65 deaths per every 100,000 residents.

As of 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, the Public Health Department reported there were 286 patients in Santa Clara County hospitals who have tested for COVID-19. The department said 91 of those patients were in ICU beds.

At this time last week, Santa Clara County had recorded 890 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 30 coronavirus-related deaths.

Gov. Newsom said Monday that 2,509 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 are in California hospitals, including 1,085 who are in intensive care unit beds. Newsom said more than 14,000 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus and the death toll is 343 in the state.

Of the 14,000-plus confirmed cases around the state, nearly 4,000 have come from the Bay Area.

Santa Clara County reported its first positive test for the novel coronavirus on January 31. More than 11,000 people have been tested for COVID-19 in the county, but the Public Health Department has noted that the number of positive cases in the county is likely much higher than what’s been reported due to the overall scarcity of tests.

The county’s Public Health Department has not provided data on the number of patients who have made full recoveries after contracting COVID-19.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found
a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and
it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!

LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!

What alcohol gets got the least calories? Beer and wine typically have the least calories. This of course depends upon the choice of wine and whether the beer is a light beer or normal selection. You can expect around 100 calories per 12 ounce serving of mild beer, up to approximately 150-200 calories for 12 oz of regular beer. As for wine it depends on the amount as a few dessert wines could have a greater amount of calories than those regular white or red varieties. For instance a dessert wine may comprise about 165 calories and that’s only for 3.5 oz. That is largely in part because of the additional sugars in these wines, so your very best bet with wine is to stick with regular white or red wine and skip the desert wine. You can expect 100 to 125 calories to get a 5 ounce serving of those varieties. So the best choice for alcohol content by volume would be the normal white and red wines. https://is.gd/OpB11R
