Keto diet followers lose weight via a process called ketosis, where their body burns fat in order to use as energy. But are there other ways to help boost results?

The ketogenic diet, always known as the keto diet, is a popular diet trend that follows a low-carb and high-fat pattern. The diet reportedly promotes weight loss by putting the body into a state of ketosis, which is a process that has our body going into our fat stores to spend on energy, which would then translate to shedding a few pounds.

But the process itself can be very tricky and hard to pull off at times. As such, here are some additional weight loss tips that devotees of the diet can follow as well:

Eat a hearty breakfast

That’s right, don’t skip it. Rather, eat a simple breakfast containing eggs and bacon since studies show that those who eat breakfast lost weight better than those that prefer to skip it. This is because eating in the morning helps you feel fuller, stopping you from snacking or overeating later in the day. Remember, all those little snacks can easily add up, especially when done daily and without restraint.

Eat during specific times

Also known as intermittent fasting, where you’re only allowed to eat during a specific stretch of time throughout the day, this diet strategy is a popular way to lose weight and has been highly regarded as both healthy and effective. One such method is the 16/8 fast, where you fast for 16 hours and only eat during an 8-hour period, which is usually noon up until early evening.

Make every drink count

“If you’re trying to slim down and lose stubborn belly fat, green tea could be your new favourite beverage. Research has found that green tea in particular may be helpful for supporting metabolism and weight management,” Naomi Newman-Beinart, a medical nutritionist, explained.

Snack here and there

However, make sure that your snacks of choice are also healthy. For keto followers, this can mean chia pudding or a homemade trail mix of seeds and nuts.
