Wonder Woman 1984‘s new promotional image offers fans a look at Cheetah’s body after her transformation. Played by Kristen Wiig, Barbara Ann Minerva will be one of the two main antagonists to Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) in the upcoming DCEU film directed by Patty Jenkins. The other one will be Maxwell Lord – a powerful businessman in the comics, played by Pedro Pascal.
Since it’s confirmed that Cheetah will be the villain of the next Wonder Woman film, fans have been curious about how she transforms from her human form. Wonder Woman 1984‘s promotional materials and trailers have only revealed her in civilian clothes with Minerva’s Cheetah’s look more likely reserved for the film itself with a couple of hints to how her face will look like once transformed. However, a brand new piece of marketing for the film reveals what her body will also look like.

Shared on Twitter by a fan-account with the handle DC League is a promotional image for Wonder Woman 1984 with Cheetah front and center. The photo features the character in her transformed state, but instead of only showing her face, her whole upper body is also revealed. Check it out below:
It’s worth noting that promotional images don’t guarantee that it’s the final look for character. Sometimes, these are released for marketing purposes only and is based on early concept art provided by the studio for tie-in merchandise. Having said all that, Cheetah’s make-up checks out with what fans have seen in other promos for Wonder Woman 1984 before, so it’s safe to say that her final appearance in the movie won’t be significantly different from what’s been revealed thus far. As for the appearance of her body, it’s consistent with what her face looks like. There are various iterations of the villain in the comic books, therefore, there’s also a string of different looks for Cheetah over the years. This appearance seems to primarily mine inspiration from Minerva’s version with a few tweaks which makes sense.
It will be interesting how Minerva’s transformation actually plays out in the film. Aside from the narrative reasons behind it, fans are also looking forward to how the actual process would pan out in the movie. Admittedly, it’s quite tricky to adapt the villain on the screen given her appearance, a character design lapse could easily make her tacky. Assuming, however, that this will actually what she’ll look like in the film, it does look pretty cool. Unfortunately, it will be quite a while before the public sees her in full action with Wonder Woman 1984 now further pushed back to October.
