Michigan reports 4,486 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 206 new deaths – Detroit Free Press

Michigan reported 4,486 new coronavirus cases and 206 deaths Saturday, according to an update from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Of the 206 deaths reported Saturday, 176 were identified in a regular records review to see if a COVID-19 infection contributed to previous death. 

The state now has 10,662 confirmed deaths and 430,780 total confirmed cases since March.

Michigan had a positivity rate of 9.97% Friday, reporting that 5,641 out of 56,552 diagnostic test results returned were positive.

Michigan has a fatality rate of 2.5% among known cases, according to data from the state health department.

The state has reported 533 probable COVID-19 deaths and 34,379 probable cases.

The probable cases combined with the confirmed cases make for a cumulative total of 11,198 deaths and 465,159 cases.
